Roles

Contributor guide

What contributors can do in VisionAtlas and where to find key features.

Contributors are team members who participate in execution without owning company-wide planning.

Typical access

Contributors usually can:

  • View goals, KPIs, and initiatives (subject to visibility rules)
  • Submit [weekly updates](/help/weekly-updates)
  • Submit [observations](/help/observations-and-risks)
  • Comment on goal, KPI, and initiative detail pages when CanComment is enabled
  • View [action items](/help/action-items) assigned to them (when permitted)

Contributors typically cannot create goals, KPIs, or initiatives unless given extra permissions.

  1. Read Understanding entities and the performance model for your company.
  2. Check the [Dashboard](/help/dashboard) for KPI and initiative health.
  3. Submit a weekly update for your department each week.
  4. Use Observations for blockers or ideas that do not need formal risk tracking.
  5. Complete assigned action items and update status when you have edit permission.

Comments

Open any goal, KPI, or initiative you can view and scroll to Comments on the detail page. Use comments for clarification — use observations or action items when the signal needs broader visibility or an owner.

If something is missing from the menu

Your company may use RBAC v2 with custom roles. If you expect access to a feature that is not in the sidebar, contact your company administrator.
