What it is (why)
Jumpstart generates a starter bundle of goals, KPIs, and initiatives from your company profile and a short business context step using AI. It helps admins go from zero to a linked performance model quickly instead of creating records one by one.
When to use it
Use Jumpstart when:
- You have completed basic company setup (name, industry, description)
- You want a first draft of the performance model to refine
- You are on a Growth or higher plan with AI recommendations enabled
Do not rely on Jumpstart when:
- You already have a mature model — edit existing records or use Performance model instead
- Company context is empty — add industry and description under Settings first
- You need only one KPI — create manually under KPIs
How to use it
- Open Jumpstart from the sidebar (or the getting-started checklist).
- Complete Business context — eight short questions about cadence, 90-day goals, where KPIs live, weekly update owners, pilot departments, primary pain, and day-one integrations. Answers are saved on the company. You can Skip for now and return later.
- On Generate recommendations, click Generate. Saved business context seeds the draft even if the optional refine box is empty.
- Select the items you want to keep; deselect anything that does not fit.
- Click Save selected — records are created in your workspace without leaving the page.
- If you leave and return, your draft selection persists until you save or regenerate. Use Edit business context to change intake answers.
After saving, open Performance model to verify links and adjust owners, targets, and visibility.
Plan requirements
Jumpstart requires AI recommendations (includesAIRecommendations), available on Intelligence, Intelligence Plus, Leadership, and Enterprise plans. Foundation plans see an upgrade prompt instead of generation.

- Company administrators run Jumpstart during initial setup

Common mistakes
- Saving everything without review — edit names, targets, and owners before communicating to the org
- Skipping Performance model review — orphan or weak links are common in AI drafts
- Running Jumpstart before fiscal calendar and departments exist — ownership and periods may be wrong
